Certification Label Information
A vehicle certification label is a manufacturer’s label that identifies important vehicle information and confirms that the vehicle conforms to applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards in effect on the date of manufacture.
For low-speed vehicles, federal guidance recognizes that applicable vehicles must comply with FMVSS No. 500 and applicable federal regulations.
Certification Label May Include:
- Manufacturer name
- Date of manufacture
- Vehicle Identification Number
- Vehicle type or classification
- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
- Gross Axle Weight Rating, if applicable
- Tire and rim information
- Statement of compliance with applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards
